Let’s be honest for a second – I thought lace camisoles were meant for the bedroom. (sorry mom and dad if you’re reading this ha ha). But seriously! The first time I tried this black lace cami on, I thought “no way in heck am I wearing this out in public. I’m a mom. And a wife. And this looks sleezy.” Yep! Eatin’ those words right about now!I have to admit – this little black lace number is now one of my most favorite, go to, must always be clean items in my closet. Not only is it insanely versatile, but its just a little something extra. It adds so much to an outfit. Rather than a basic, cotton, scoop neck camisole or tank – it adds dimension, texture, style and a fabulous neck line to any outfit!
So come on mommas! Break out that bedroom wear and rock the heck out of it – even if its to a family function!!
PS – didn’t Bethenny Frankel sell “shapewear” that you could take from day to night? That woman is an entrepreneurial genius. So yea – just get on board 😉
Vacation Chic – This look is SO much fun! One of my favorites! I paired this black cami with black denim. And once you have a black on black backdrop – you can throw anything on over the top! This time I decided to spice it up with a light weight kimono and stiletto heels. This look is perfect for a dinner date, a night on the town, or even a vacation night. I’ve worn this kimono a hand full of times and its the perfect light weight layer. The last time we went to Napa I wore it during our travel day and it was the perfect layer for the plane.
Dinner Date – This look is quite a bit dressier. I love the pop of a motto jacket in a bright green color – it takes a dressy, semi preppy outfit and makes it a tad bit more edgy. The black and gold pumps do make this outfit pretty dressy. Which is perfect for Valentine’s date night. But it would also be adorable with tights and booties – which would dress it down a notch. A more casual version of this outfit would be awesome for a day in the office.
Girls Night Out – This look is probably my all time favorite! You put a girl in camo, leopard, and throw in a little lace – bring on the world. I LOVE this look. Its edgy. Fun. Bold. and Brave. It pushed me past my comfort zone. But then again I think that’s why I like it. It’s something different. It’s amazing what an outfit can do for your psyche. You put on something a little bit bold. A little less “mom” and you suddenly feel like a boss! These joggers are LIFE! I can’t rave about them enough! And this camo jacket will be a staple in my closet for years to come. Be bold mommas. Step outside the box.
Errands Around Town – Now this look is probably the definition of casual chic. Casual enough for the carpool line at school. But chic enough for lunch with your girlfriends. I wore this for a day trip to the mall. Just like the kimono outfit – black on black is the perfect backdrop for anything fun over it. And this pink chenille cardigan is nothing shy of a miracle! The Loft sold out almost as quickly as they listed it online, but I’ve linked a few similar ones. If you don’t own a chenille cardigan – you’re definitely missing out! You could even do this look with cute sneakers for an EVEN more comfy look.

Great tips!! I need to branch out a little and give the lace cami a try!
