Thanks to my sister, I’ve found the best plant hack for busy moms to keep your plants alive! As a busy mom of three kids, keeping my plants alive is often the last thing on my mind until it’s too late! Then the $100 worth of plants I bought and spent an entire day planting for the season are nearly toast. I typically start out the season strong with confidence that I’ll keep my flowers alive, but it never fails that less than halfway through the season, I’ve given up.
But this one little plant hack has saved this busy mom hundreds of dollars so far…
A few months ago, I purchased these (super cheap) plastic watering bulbs from Amazon. To my knowledge, these are most commonly used when people go on vacation to prevent their plants from dying while they’re away, but I decided to give these a try for everyday use, and let me tell you…. they’ve changed my little plants lives!
Want to give it a try? It’s so easy! You just fill up the bulb with water, insert it at an angle deep down in the soil, and replace when it’s empty.
How do they work? As the soil begins to dry out, water is released from the bulb.
When do I need to replace them? If you plan to give this a try, start by checking them every day until you get the hang of how often they’re emptying. For this planter above, I replace the bulb every 3-4 days.
