Yep! You read that right! We’re expecting another baby girl in April 2020.
Our closest friends and family have known for a while but I’m so excited to officially let the cat out of the bag!! I wasn’t sure how I felt about sharing on the blog but I’ve always loved reading other people’s baby announcements so I thought “What the heck? I’ll go for it!”
I’m answering a few questions that we’ve gotten since telling people.
Holy cow that was quick. Was this planned?
Yes and no. I feel like if you aren’t actively NOT trying to get pregnant then its planned. Ya know what I mean?!?! ha ha. But no, this was not like Hudson…who we begged and prayed and medicated to get for 13 months. This was totally an “oh s*$! we’re pregnant!”
How far apart will Hudson and baby #3 be?
17 months
Were you hoping for a boy?
Of course! I’m sure there are some people out there who are genuinely 100% content with all the same sex. But that’s not us! We both wanted a boy. And just speaking for myself here…my desire to have a son runs much deeper than the superficial “oh you’ll have a lot of weddings to pay for.” But at this point thats neither here nor there. We’re having another healthy baby girl…just as God intended! {this subject is something I may write an entire blog post on in the future so stay tuned}
Were you surprised it was another girl?
Totally! This pregnancy has been the polar opposite of both the girls so both Tom and I thought there was a good chance it was a boy.
How far along are you?
I’m 18 weeks today (almost half way there!!)
How are you feeling?
Crabby. But physically fine. This pregnancy has been so different from the others. No nausea. No dry heaving in the middle of the night. (can I get an AMEN!?!) But crabby as all get out. Like “I don’t even want to be around myself” crabby. I was the happiest preggo with both the girls. But this time I’m just ornery and agitated with EVERYONE and EVERYTHING. Sorry Tom!
π Oh and exhausted. EXTREMELY exhausted. I don’t think the second trimester “honeymoon” happens when you have two other kids at home.
What have you been craving?
Hearty foods. Steak. Potatoes. Chicken and bacon sandwiches. I even suggested to Tom that we buy a panini press because a hot chicken and bacon sandwich sounded heavenly. And sour drinks and candy. Lemonade! I drink a lot of Crystal Light. And halloween candy has been my best friend (sorry Parker – your sour worms are gone).
Does baby #3 have a name yet?
We think so….
Will you share the name?
No. We don’t tell anyone our names until the baby is born. Not even our moms or siblings. Or best friends. Just the two of us will know her name!
Will you try again for a boy?
We’re both 99% sure our family is “complete” after this one. But never say never right?!? π
Thanks so much for reading and investing in our journey with this bambino. I’ll be answering any questions I get in another blog post so feel free to drop a line below.
Love always,
Meghan (and Tom)
