I don’t know about you, but I fully intend on overeating at Thanksgiving dinner. So the super cute outfits you see, snug fitting dresses, skinny jeans with tight waistbands, crop tops with big bell sleeves —- yea, not for me! Here are 3 practical, comfy, and still cute Thanksgiving outfit options.
Plaid and Fur
A plaid shirt is staple in every wardrobe. Its perfect for so many occasions. But pair it with a faux fur vest and you’ve added a little edge. It makes it unique and a little more exciting than the average backyard BBQ look. And this one I tied in a knot just to give it more of a finished look and show that I actually have a waist line.

And these jeans – they have an elastic waistband. Go ahead. Laugh. Until you put them on 😉
Leggings and a Poncho
A poncho is probably one of my favorite fall/winter pieces. I own a plethora of them in various colors and patterns. This one is an old favorite from Forever 21. But I’ve linked some very similar ones here. The beautiful thing about this outfit — if you pair it with a striped tunic, it still looks cute when you take the poncho off to eat. Add high waisted leggings with a strechy waist band and that long tunic — eat up 🙂

Basics with a Blanket Scarf
This fine knit sweater from H and M has been a staple in my closet for 2 years. I actually wore it 2 years ago to Thanksgiving dinner when P was a tiny nugget. And surprisingly it’s held up just great ever since then! Not only does it flow (you know – to hide all that food), but it’s light weight. It’s no longer available in this color, but there are TONS of other great options. I own it in a few colors and fully intend to get a few more. Pair it with a plaid blanket scarf and you’re set.

But the best part of this entire outfit are these shoes! I wore them this past weekend and got so many compliments. Trust me when I say they are INSANELY comfy. And the asymmetrical studs are perfection. They also come in leopard — the perfect neutral for any outfit!
Happy Eating 😉
