Welp – I’ve been out of the “fashion blogging” game for a solid 6 months or more! So to jump back in was scary but oh so much fun.
Post-baby bodies are such a bizarre thing! On one hand you feel super thin because lets face it…you are! Especially compared to where you just came from. But on the other hand, now that there isn’t a sweet baby in that belly, you want it to be flat and tight and trim and fitting into your regular size jeans. Oh the things we do for love!
But this week I was itching to go try on clothes! I knew things wouldn’t fit just right and I’d have to show myself a TON of grace. But I was also so tired of the same 4 things I’ve been wearing for the last 3 months that I had to give it a shot. And to be honest – it wasn’t half bad.
I haven’t shopped at The Loft in so long that I didn’t quite know where to begin. But it quickly came rushing back to me. ha ha. Here are is a fall wardrobe capsule that I put together with a few basics, a few patterns, and the same layers used over and over again! Enjoy 😉
PS – don’t mind the dirty mirror!
All of the items are at the bottom of the post and also linked by outfit. You can see all of this in action by following me on Instagram and watching my story highlights.
BASIC 1 – striped, cowl neck tunic sweater
BASIC 2 – solid, cowl neck tunic shirt
If I’m wearing leggings I like to pair them with a longer shirt. And this light weight cowl neck tunic is just that. The perfect piece for layering with any fun pattern.
cowl neck tunic (size S) // tan and gray striped wrap (size XS)/S // leopard vest (size S) // two tone gray plaid poncho (one size) // the best leggings you could ever own with pockets (size XS) // Sperry snow boots
BASIC 3 – striped turtleneck
You can never go wrong with stripes. Especially black and white stripes! I sized up on this one (M) to get the longer length and less snug fit. And can we talk about these jeans! How fabulous is that layered fringe at the bottom!! It just adds a little “something” to a basic pair of jeans.
striped turtleneck (sized up to M) // V neck gray oversized sweater (size S) // fringe jeans (TTS) // leopard vest (size S) // tan and gray wrap (size XS/S)
BASIC 4 – plaid blouse
And yes – this time of year I consider a plaid shirt a basic. You can layer a plaid shirt with just about anything! Including another plaid (as long as the size and color are different enough). This little plaid number is extra fun with the peplum detail at the bottom.
peplum plaid blouse (size S) // V neck gray oversized sweater (size S) // two tone gray plaid poncho (one size) // the best leggings you could ever own with pockets (size XS)
BASIC 5 – a casual dress
gray hooded swing dress (size S) // black fit and flare stretch dress (size 2) // two tone gray plaid poncho (one size) // speckled knit fitted dress (size S)
